C.S. Waist Belt Plate

C.S. Waist Belt Plate. From 1861-1865 the Confederate States of America did its best to produce this design of waist belt plate for its soldiers. They were not an item of issue of the Arm of Northern Virginia, but had wide distribution in the Western Armies. As a substitute, many Confederate soldiers wore the U.S. waist belt plate upside down.
